Kandi Burruss is opening up about her life after her divorce from Todd Tucker. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum and her ex-husband finalized their divorce in March after 11 years of marriage, and she is opening up about how she’s navigating co-parenting and her single life. The new comments come as Kandi marks celebrating her milestone 50th birthday.

Kandi spoke with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution earlier this month, where she got emotional about her life following her divorce, admitting that she stays busy with her career to help her heal from the hurt. This includes performing on Broadway and in her one-woman show, I Do. I Did. I’m Done. “I’m not healed,” Kandi told the publication, as she teared up.
“I don’t like to be sad. I like to live into the positive. Lean into the fun,” she continued. “With that being said, I stay busy. Because if you stay busy, then you ain’t got time to be sad. On top of that, I’ve been leaning into trying to have more fun, planning more trips, like the other day, I booked myself a trip to just fly all the way to London just to see Cynthia Erivo in Dracula.”
Kandi Burruss admits she has “no regrets” from her marriage to Todd Tucker after divorce
Kandi admitted to the publication that she is learning how to “move as a solo person” without her ex, with whom she shares two children, Ace Tucker and Blaze Tucker. “Todd and I did everything together. We did businesses together. We traveled everywhere together,” she stated. But she admitted that she has no regrets about being in their relationship.
“I don’t have any regrets. I don’t have no regrets about my marriage,” she said. “I feel like we had a good marriage. It was great while it was great. I don’t have any negative thing to say about my marriage or Todd, really. I just feel like it didn’t work.”

Kandi Burruss opens up about co-parenting with Todd Tucker
Kandi, who also has a daughter, Riley Burruss, from a previous relationship, admitted to the publication that she has a good relationship with Todd today. The exes spent the holidays together and even took their two youngest on a trip together for New Year’s Eve. More recently, they came together to celebrate Blaze and Ace’s recent school milestones (more on that below).
“We co-parent well,” she said in a video published by the publication on May 15. “Whatever’s gonna make the kids happy. Like, they wanna, ‘Oh, why can’t we all go on a trip together?’ OK, you want both of us on the trip? We gonna figure out how to do this co-parenting thing on a trip. Now I ain’t ever think I would have said, like back in the day if you would have asked me, I would have been like, ‘What?!’ But now I’m like, OK, let’s keep it friendly.”

As mentioned, Kandi and Todd reunite for the graduations of Ace and Blaze as they get ready to enter new grades in school. They both posted family photos from the big event and shared their feelings on watching their kids grow,
“It’s graduation season, and 2 of my favs graduated!” Kandi wrote. “I’m so proud of you two! So smart & fearless. Continue to make us proud & more importantly make yourselves proud. I love you soooooo much!”
Todd added in a separate Instagram post, “So proud of [Ace and Blaze]. Great job Daddy. Loves you! Keep up the hard work!”
Kandi Burruss celebrates her 50th birthday
Kandi is not only entering a new chapter with her family, but also a new era for herself as she turns 50 this month. “This is 50! Or as I like to say 25 for the 2nd time! Happy birthday to me!” she wrote on May 22 on Instagram. She also revealed she’s been celebrating on a trip to Thailand with her friends.
“I’m so grateful for my tribe! They really are making this bday trip extra special,” she wrote in one post, adding in another, “My birthday in [Thailand] is starting off right!!!!! My favorite food is Italian food! & @rivadelfiumebkk did not disappoint. One of my favorite desserts is tiramisu & they made me a tiramisu birthday bowl! Soooooooo good! Day 1 already had me smiling!”
