Teddi Mellencamp is sharing a major update on her health amid her ongoing battle with Stage 4 cancer. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum has been undergoing immunotherapy treatments and is revealing how things are today.
The mom of three recently took to her Instagram Story, where she held a question-and-answer session and shared new insight into her health now, which comes a little over a year after her brain surgery. Teddi admitted that she has “at least another year” on immunotherapy treatments and is continuing to monitor her health with her doctors.
“Going for another round and scans on Tuesday,” she wrote in the post, along with a prayer hands emoji. “A lot of these types of messages came through and I just want everyone to know how grateful I am every day for the love and support you continue to send my way. It does not go unnoticed.”
Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave shares an update on her hair amid her cancer journey
Teddi has continued to share an honest look at her life amid her cancer journey, including opening up about her hair loss. She took to Instagram on April 29, where she posted a video asking a “question for all my cancer friends” about the growing-out process of her hair. “My question is, now what?” she asked, showing off her blonde hair, which is currently growing into a shag cut. “The hair is too long for the wigs, and I’m sick of the wigs,” she continued. “But like, what are we supposed to do here? I can’t. Someone send tips.”
She took to the caption of the post, where she admitted that her hair is starting to resemble her 11-year-old son, Cruz Arroyave’s hair. “It’s not lost on me how much my hair has grown since the brain surgeries,” she wrote in the caption of the post. “However, I currently have the same hairstyle as Cruz, and I don’t nearly have enough ‘rizz’ for that. So what exactly is the answer to hair at this stage?”

A day later, Teddi returned to Instagram, where she posted a video of Cruz helping style her hair in its growing-out phase. In the video, Teddi’s son with ex, Edwin Arroyave, can be seen showing off his texture powder, sea salt spray, and styling clay before applying them to her hair. “This might be tough, not gon’ lie bruh,” he said in the video before diffusing his mom’s hair.Â
Teddi’s daughters with Edwin, Slate Arroyave and Dove Arroyave, tried to come to her rescue to help fix her hair, but Teddi concluded that Cruz’s look was not for her. “Cruz thought he could help with my hair sitch, but really all he did was make me look like one of the Paul brothers,” she admitted in the caption of the post.

Teddi Mellencamp opens up about Kyle Richards’ support in her health journey
In addition to her kids, Kyle Richards has been by Teddi’s side since her cancer diagnosis. In fact, Teddi reflected on that friendship and support back in January on Kyle’s birthday. “They say there’s a reason for everybody who comes into your life. For [Kyle], there’s more than a reason; there’s a purpose,” she wrote. “From the moment we met on the show, there was a natural connection. But now, after everything, there’s a sisterhood that can’t be broken. I’m so grateful for the support, encouragement, and love that you bring no matter what life throws our way. I probably wouldn’t be writing this if it weren’t for you.”
Kyle commented, “I love you Ted. So grateful to have you in my life.”
Weeks later, in March, Kyle was by Teddi’s side when they walked the carpet for an event to support the Women’s Cancer Research Fund. “If there’s one thing that will make me put on real clothes and leave the house, it’s being able to support the Women’s Cancer Research Fund,” Teddi wrote on Instagram, to which Kyle responded with several heart emojis.
