They might be holding a peach and cherry blossom, but Gizelle Bryant and Porsha Williams showed their friendship crosses Real Housewives lines as they met for a meal (and shots!) during The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17, Episode 10.
“I missed you, friend!” Porsha exclaimed as she grabbed The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member’s hands across the table. Gizelle responded, “I know. I don’t like it.”
As Porsha pressed, “You need to be down here more often,” Gizelle explained exactly why she was in The ATL. “You know I’m here this week, because I just did something here in town…a little soap opera, Beyond the Gates,” Gizelle shared.
Both Gizelle and her fellow RHOP ‘Wife Wendy Osefo starred in an episode of the daytime drama, which aired on Dec. 1, 2025, according to Soap Opera Network. The series takes place in an affluent Maryland suburb. RHOP’s Karen Huger also made a cameo in the soap opera in February 2025.
Porsha Williams shares details of her friendship with Gizelle Bryant
Porsha and Gizelle have a long and storied history together, which Porsha laid out in the June 7 episode. “First of all, I just love me some Gizelle. We did a very popular show, honey, called [Bravo’s] Chat Room together,” Porsha told producers. “And it was during the time where everything had to be virtual.”
The crossover series also brought together Summer House’s Hannah Berner, and Below Deck’s Kate Chastain, and first premiered in September 2020. Additionally, Porsha and Gizelle spent time in Thailand together for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 3.

“I just love her,” Porsha added during the June 7 episode. “She’s one of those friends that’s gonna just tell you like it is.”
Porsha opened up about her friendship with Gizelle during her November 2021 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’s After Show.
“The thing about Gizelle to me that inspires me is how she don’t give a s—t. And it’s not because she just doesn’t care…it’s because she knows what the truth is for her,” Porsha told Andy at the time.
The two also appeared together on WWHL in April 2025, and teased how after the show, they planned to prowl for new men together in NYC.
“We’re going to peruse the bars. I’m going to be on one side. She’s going to be on the other. Because I heard dating, you’re not supposed to be together, and we’re intimidating,” Porsha shared. “But like, we’re going to watch each other from afar and see what we catch.”
Gizelle chimed in, “I’m a great wing woman.”
A look at Gizelle Bryant’s other major connection to Atlanta
Gizelle has another connection to Atlanta besides her friendship with Porsha: her ex-husband, Jamal Bryant, who is the Senior Pastor at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta.
In case you need a refresher, the two first met when Gizelle began working for the NAACP national headquarters in Baltimore, while he was a pastor in that area. The two also bonded over their activism background.
“So, Jamal and I have been in the trenches of trying to do civil rights and trying to make sure that we leave this world a better place,” she told BravoTV.com in 2020. “I’m very proud, always, of what Jamal does especially in the Black community. He really gives his heart and soul to the community.”
While married from 2002 to 2009, the couple had three daughters: twins Angel and Adore, and Grace. They briefly rekindled in 2019, but it was a long distance relationship between the Potomac area and the Atlanta area. They officially ended things a second time in 2021.

“Listen, we were a victim of the pandemic,” she told E! of their second breakup. “I don’t think any long-distance relationship can really withstand not seeing each other. But is he still in my life, is he still one of my best friends? Absolutely.”
