When The Valley‘s Tom Schwartz previously visited the Hamptons during Summer House Season 9, he encouraged the cast to “cherish” their close bonds and not repeat the mistakes that had been made within his fractured friend group. What the Vanderpump Rules alum didn’t know when he filmed the scene in 2024 was that history would soon repeat itself, and a dating scandal between Amanda Batula and West Wilson would leave their share house similarly divided.
“I don’t think I’m clairvoyant,” Schwartz insisted on The Valley After Show for Season 3, Episode 11. “I said that with the purest intentions. You guys, I’m sorry if I jinxed you.”
Of course, he had been referring to the cheating scandal, now known as “Scandoval,” that led to Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix’s breakup in March 2023. Viewers, meanwhile, had also noticed some parallels between the two situations, and Schwartz admitted that he wasn’t thrilled for that chapter from his past to re-enter the conversation amid the more recent Summer House drama.

“It sucked seeing my name trending with the term ‘Scandoval’ again,” Schwartz added. “I gotta say, it did trigger a little PTSD. I’m in such a good place now mentally, but there was a while with that consuming my whole life. Six months, a year.”
Tom Schwartz shares his thought on Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s relationship
While commenting on Amanda and West specifically, Schwartz revealed that he was “shocked” when the two recently confirmed their romantic relationship in late March: “People would ask me all the time. I’m like, ‘No, trust me. Like, Amanda and West are just good friends. He’s like a brother to her.’ … It’s like a jinx in itself.”
Declaring that he didn’t want to be a “neutral-ass bitch,” Schwartz went on to share more of his candid thoughts on the pair’s controversial new relationship which has also directly impacted their exes Kyle Cooke and Ciara Miller.
“They know they messed up,” he remarked. “My advice to anyone out there: It’s a learning opportunity. Don’t hook up with someone in your friend group that’s gonna violate or possibly destroy your friendship with other people. Don’t cheat, obviously. It’s never worth it. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze!”
Tom Schwartz revealed which Summer House cast members he’s been in touch with recently
Having already weathered a similar storm, Schwartz further shared that he’s been in contact with several Summer House Season 10 cast members as they navigate the fallout within their own friend group. First, he revealed that Jesse Solomon had texted him, because fans seemed to think that he’d known more about what was really going on behind the scenes and was, therefore, allegedly complicit in the coverup.
“He’s like, ‘Schwartz, everyone is saying I’m you right now. What should I do?'” he added on The Valley‘s June 10 After Show. “I was like, ‘Dude, I don’t know.’ I was like, ‘Just sending you love, man. They’ll move on, but you’ll be OK.'”
He noted that he’s also recently spoken to Carl Radke. “He’s not a mess, he’s not,” Schwartz assured viewers, referencing Kyle’s viral street interview from April.

More details on what Tom Schwartz told the Summer House Season 9 cast
As mentioned, Schwartz ended his Hamptons visit during Summer House Season 9, Episode 12, by using the VPR cast as a cautionary tale during a bedside conversation with Amanda, Ciara, and Paige DeSorbo. “You guys have to cherish this,” he told the trio as they lounged in bed. “I used to have a happy family in L.A., and now everyone hates each other. We all hate each other. You’ve gotta cherish this, OK? It’s very sacred.”
When Paige, meanwhile, insisted, that they were “gonna love each other forever, no matter what,” Schwartz responded, “That’s what I used to say! Now we’re in complete disarray.”
Paige’s final word on the matter? “As long as Amanda doesn’t cheat on Kyle, I think we can get through anything.”
