West Wilson is opening up about his relationship with Amanda Batula and why he didn’t follow her off stage during the Summer House Season 10 reunion when she walked off.Â
Amanda had excused herself in Part 2 of the three-part reunion amid cast members questioning her about her romance with West. Although West initially did not follow her off the stage, he was encouraged by Amanda’s ex-husband, Kyle Cooke, to go after her. West took to his podcast, Show Me Something, on June 5, where he admitted that he and Amanda had talked prior to the reunion about what would happen if she walked off stage.
“The Amanda getting up part, I knew it was gonna look bad, but we talked before. We were like, ‘Ok, it’s going to be annoying as f–k for everyone there if we use the word we the whole time.’ Cause we have individual friendships and relationships with all these people,” he explained during the episode. “We should answer for ourselves. Let’s not speak for each other. Because I think that’s a corny ass look to try to play the ‘we’ card the whole time. And we agreed, hold it down as individuals. So she got up, I was like, one of us needs to be on this stage.”
“I wish Amanda didn’t necessarily get up, but she had to take a break. It’s fine,” he added.

West continued during the episode, saying, “She’s a big girl. She was gonna go take a sec and come back, I got yelled at enough times, so I got up. But it would have been weirder if she got up and Kyle got up. Like, Kyle almost went. It’s just so f—ing weird. But I didn’t want them all on stage without two of us. I feel like that’s a worse look.”
“I knew she was fine,” he added. “There’s a lot of that. I’ve done three of these now, I know how they’re gonna go. It’s not my style of conflict or communication, but I’d be lying if I was like, ‘Oh, I wasn’t prepared for people to say mean stuff.'”

After Amanda returned from her break at the Summer House Season 10 reunion, she and West shed more light on their relationship. West admitted during Part 3 of the Summer House Season 10 reunion that seeing Amanda single for the first time after she separated from Kyle changed things for him. “I think seeing her happy, and like, having fun, kind of the Amanda that I didn’t see prior, I took it kind of personal, I guess, because I was bringing her around my friends and we were out and about. And that was special to me,” he admitted. “I know it sounds so black and white, but it was a treat for me to see Amanda so incredibly happy. And we started spending more time together.”
Amanda admitted during the reunion that there was no single moment when her romantic feelings for West clicked. “There was a night where we just, he sort of said something and was like, ‘Am I crazy? Is there something here?’ And I just feel like all of the emotions came flooding in,” she continued. “It wasn’t a slow burn or a build-up to it. It kind of came flooding in all at once.”
