Kyle Richards is going to be a grandma! The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom of four’s oldest daughter, Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie, announced over the weekend that she is expecting her first child, and Kyle could not be more excited.
Kyle and Farrah took to their Instagram Stories over the weekend where they gave a glimpse into Kyle’s reaction to the good news and how she’s already prepping for the baby’s arrival. Kyle first took to her Instagram Story, where she posted a photo of her pushing a pet stroller on the city sidewalks with daughter Sophia Umansky’s cat, Pippa, in it. “Practicing with Pippa,” she wrote over the photo. She also posted a photo of her telling her and Farrah telling the rest of the Umansky girls about the news (more on that down below) as Farrah held her pregnancy tests up to the camera.
Kyle also took the time to reflect on how much she has changed since giving birth to Farrah, posting a photo of her holding her then-infant daughter when she was just 19 years old. “19 year old me with my newborn,” she wrote over the image.

Farrah took to her Instagram account on Sunday, where she posted a video of Kyle explaining how she found out about the news to her three younger daughters, Sophia, Alexia Umansky, and Portia Umansky, during a FaceTime call. “I was like, ‘I need to call Farrah, I need to catch up with her, I need to get an update on her life, even though we just did a big update the other day. But I needed a new update,'” Kyle stated. “So then I was waiting, my phone rang a few times, whatever, I was about to call her, and then she sent me a text, and I was like, ‘That’s so weird. And I even said to you, ‘That’s so weird, I was just going to call you.’ And then she said, ‘I’m pregnant.'”
This left Kyle at a loss for words. “And I was like, [I] couldn’t move my car. I’m shook, I don’t know. I’m speechless. I’m literally speechless,” she recalled.
“And then mom drove right here,” Farrah added.

Farrah’s younger sisters were just as excited as Kyle over the news. Alexia, Sophia, and Portia were speechless in the video as Farrah held up her pregnancy tests for the camera. “Oh, no, guys, I can’t go to college,” Portia, a rising freshman at University of Colorado Boulder, said.
“I am so excited, I am not OK,” Alexia added. “I actually can’t believe it,” Sophia noted.
Kyle Richards opens up about wanting to become a grandma
Kyle has been waiting to welcome grandkids into the family. During an interview with BravoTV.com during RHOBH Season 7, she admitted that she was ready for a new baby to join the family, but she was unsure of some things at that time. “I don’t even know what I would have a grandchild call me, I’ve thought about this,” she said, as seen in the video above. “I don’t think I could do the grandma thing.”
During an appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show after RHOBH Season 12, Kyle admitted that she was very excited for Farrah to have a baby in the future. She also revealed that her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, was just as excited to become a grandpa. “The amount of times I talk about this baby that isn’t even here yet,” she said during the 2022 clip. “My husband and I talk about, ‘Well, when the baby, the baby this, the baby that.’ There’s not even a baby. There’s no baby to be clear…But my husband and I are planning ahead. Because it effects our life too, just saying.”
