HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (TCN) — The death of a 47-year-old man who was found inside a septic well has been deemed a homicide.
KTRK reports that on the morning of July 13, police responded to a construction site where a Lorenzo Gonzalez, 47, had fallen into a septic well. His body was recovered by the fire department and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities then began to interview co-workers.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation revealed Gonzalez was allegedly involved in an argument with a co-worker. When his death was first announced, authorities stated he might have been pushed down the 30-foot shaft.
Gonzalez’s cause of death was ruled a homicide, and he was determined to have died from multiple blunt-force injuries, according to People.
A GoFundMe page set up to support Gonzalez’s family describes him as “a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather who meant the world to his family. He was deeply loved by everyone who knew him and will be remembered for his kind heart, humble spirit, and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need.
