As Luke Broderick and Kristen Doute continued to struggle with their relationship during The Valley Season 3, they visited a psychologist together during Episode 17. In the midst of dissecting Luke’s previous comment, “If this keeps happening, then I don’t know if a wedding’s going to happen,” Luke then added context that shocked both Kristen and their therapist.
“When you got down on one knee, in the most beautiful way, and proposed to me before we got pregnant with our daughter, none of that was of topic,” Kristen pointed out of their issues. Then Luke commented, “And pregnant Kristen was someone I hadn’t met yet.”
Kristen was visibly taken aback, as she answered, “That is a zinger.” Their therapist also expressed her shock, and added, “That was a big thing to say.”
Luke, for his part, attempted to explain his words. “I didn’t mean it as mean as I’m sure it sounded,” he confessed during The Valley’s July 22 episode. “It’s been hard. I have gone through some like depressive times.”
He also doubled down on the fact that he was reconsidering marriage with Kristen, but later apologized: “Sorry for saying that that way.”
But Kristen responded, “I don’t want you to backtrack and tip toe because you feel like it sounded bad coming out, but really that’s what you meant.”
Do Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick want another child?
On The Valley, Kristen explained her hesitation to have another child with Luke, despite Luke’s desires to expand their family. “I wish that I had a better grip on myself and my pregnancy, and I didn’t,” she admitted. “You want another baby so soon, and the reason I want to take my time [is] because I’d like to have a better grasp on my pregnancy the second time around — as best as I can.”
Kristen later revealed to producers just how much Luke’s words about her pregnancy hurt her. “That was a gut punch. I don’t know.”
Are Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick still together?
Yes. As Kristen put it on Season 3, Episode 17 of The Valley, “We take it day by day. Just continue to be the best parents we can to Kaia, and try to rebuild our relationship.”
Luke also shared with Bravo Insider in June that he and Kristen are still planning to move out of Los Angeles together. “I mean, in the future, 100 percent,” he added. “We will be moving. To where and when, that’s up in the air.”

Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick’s relationship struggles, explained
Kristen and Luke have been open during The Valley Season 3 about their troubles with communication, intimacy, and being on the same page after the birth of their daughter Kaia. Kristen shared during the July 22 episode just how difficult pregnancy and birth was on her.
“I think what I expected from pregnancy was like just the physical, but no one talked about the mental and emotional,” she detailed. “And obviously then, not something he knew.”
Kristen and Luke spoke of the tension that grew between them over Luke’s “role” and involvement in their newborn’s life.
“I thought that he would really want to be around. And want to be a part of that,” Kristen admitted. Luke also shared his side: “I definitely felt very lonely during that time. Because I felt like way more criticism than anything from her. And I wasn’t able to go do the things I liked to do.”

Luke also expressed of Kristen’s pregnancy and postpartum experience, “I feel like misery loves company. There are times that she was miserable and wanted me to be miserable too.” But Kristen explained, “I didn’t want you to be miserable, I just didn’t want you to leave me alone and like go out and get drunk or like go out with your friends. And then come home late and be hungover. And then sleep all day and I’m just here.”
Their therapist pointed out that when Luke expressed desire to leave the house, Kristen was then “hearing he doesn’t care” and feeling abandoned.
But Luke clarified that he felt Kristen “spirals to worst case scenario.”
“I think right now for Luke and I, the problem that we’re having is communication,” Kristen concluded to producers. “And now, with baby, and through pregnancy, we cannot seem to form a sentence that doesn’t offend the other one.”
