MUSKOGEE, Okla. (TCN) — A 34-year-old mother has been convicted of child neglect and enabling child sexual abuse after her husband impregnated her 11-year-old daughter.
According to WCAX, an investigation began in August 2025 after the girl gave birth at home without any medical help or prenatal care, and DNA testing confirmed that her stepfather, Dustin Walker, was the father. Prosecutors say the child’s mother, Cherie Walker, was aware Dustin Walker was sexually abusing her and did not take measures to protect her from him.
Dustin Walker was initially charged with felony child abuse and had his charges amended once the DNA test results came back, according to NBC News. Court documents obtained by the outlet state that in addition to the victim, five other children, all under the age of 9, were found naked and “living in deplorable conditions” and were removed from the home.
KJRH reports Cherie Walker was convicted July 17 on six counts of child neglect and one count of enabling child sexual abuse.
Dustin Walker was sentenced to life in prison on June 29. He pleaded guilty to charges of child sexual abuse and neglect in March. He will be eligible for parole after serving 85% of his sentence.
According to KJRH, the child’s grandmother Michelle Justus has also been charged with neglect in connection with the case and is scheduled to go on trial beginning July 23.
