Despite the decades of history between them, Shamea Morton Mwangi and Porsha Williams’ friendship seemed to enter a place of no return on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Already at odds coming into RHOA Season 17, the childhood besties were still able to more or less peacefully co-exist in the group, despite their undeniable tension. During the recent cast trip to Scotland, however, the Shamea and Porsha drama reached a boiling point amid a jaw-dropping dinner argument in Episode 14 that dragged each other’s families into the fray.
Read on for a breakdown of what sparked Porsha and Shamea’s feud and where the two stand today.
What is the drama with Porsha Williams and Shamea Morton?
The drama between Shamea and Porsha began during RHOA Season 16 and spilled over into Season 17. The breaking point arrived in Season 17, Episode 14, when Shamea and Porsha faced off and made allegations regarding each other’s families.
Â
Going back to the beginning, Shamea and Porsha had been “like sisters” since childhood, because their mothers were also longtime best friends. After appearing on RHOA in a supporting role over the years, Shamea joined the cast as a full-time Housewife for Season 16, which is when her friendship with Porsha began to sour.
From Shamea’s perspective, Porsha had taken issue with her casting and wanted her to remain a “friend of” the show. However, Andy Cohen previously confirmed Porsha’s counterclaim during the Season 16 reunion that she’d “always wanted Shamea on the show as a Housewife.”Â
Further deepening Porsha and Shamea’s rift was the fact that their mothers had a falling out of their own over a business dispute. Though Shamea and Porsha had previously agreed to leave their mothers out of it, Shamea brought up that point during the dinner in Scotland, kicking off their explosive fight.

Shamea justified broaching the business issue by saying that Porsha had already vaguely mentioned the “egregious” drama in a social media post. “But in fact, your mom did something first to my mom, and this was years prior,” Shamea claimed in Episode 14, before making a new allegation about Porsha’s mom.Â
Porsha clapped back by saying she’d already caught wind that she was “sitting on” the accusation and brought it to Ms. Diane’s attention. “She was flabbergasted,” Porsha said, before going to to make an accusation of her own about Shamea’s mother.Â
By the end of the dustup, both women declared that they no longer wanted to be in each other’s lives. Once Shamea tearfully exited the dinner, Porsha told their stunned castmates, “What I see in those eyes is the same s–t I’ve seen in anybody’s eyes who wish hate upon me. … Now, until that spirit get up off of her, I ain’t f–kin’ with it.” In a confessional, Porsha reiterated, “It’s f–kin’ over.”
Where do Porsha Williams and Shamea Morton stand today?
Porsha and Shamea are still not friends today. During a July 19 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Shamea noted that “the drama’s still happening” on social media, adding, “I agreed to move on from it at reunion and that’s what I’m planning on doing. … At this point, where do you go? I mean, we’ve already gone to hell.” Â
On a more positive note, Andy challenged Shamea to name three things she misses about her friendship with Porsha, and she obliged without hesitation.

“We cut up real bad when we actin’ silly and outside,” Shamea shared on WWHL, before also referring to her relationship with Porsha’s sister, Lauren Williams, and daughter, Pilar Jhena McKinley. “And just the ability to text if I’m going through something or need some advice on something or just need to laugh.”
