Los Angeles, California – Singer Tate McRae‘s romance with hockey star Jack Hughes seems to have ended as swiftly as it began, as insiders have now dished that the two are done after just five months.
The 23-year-old pop star met Jack last winter in New York, initially connecting through Instagram.
Fans of the vocalist first spotted Tate in December 2025 at one of the 25-year-old’s NHL games. Shortly thereafter, the pair were seen together at a restaurant in the West Village.
After months of speculation, a secret source finally confirmed to Us Weekly in March of this year that the hockey pro is indeed dating the musician.

But now, according to an insider who spoke to Page Six, the center for the New Jersey Devils has told his friends that he had called it quits with Tate.
He said that several “red flags” emerged during his relationship with Tate, which led him to make the difficult decision.
However, Tate and Jack don’t seem to agree entirely on how their relationship ended.
According to sources close to the Greedy artist, she supposedly broke things off and, as insiders claim, the Olympian is already dating other women. Neither of them has issued an official statement yet.
