Gizelle Bryant’s Drama With Kyle Richards Over Mauricio Explained

Some unexpected drama sparked between Kyle Richards and Gizelle Bryant on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th‘s stop in Beverly Hills. As it turned out, the reason behind the conflict stemmed from what Gizelle said about Mauricio Umansky, Kyle’s estranged husband, in the past.

While unpacking a separate issue in the second episode of RHUGT: Roaring 20th, Gizelle pointed out that she had “immediately” texted Kyle when she ran into Mauricio in Aspen during The Real Housewives of Potomac‘s Season 10 cast trip to Colorado. However, Kyle was quick reply, “And then you said you would’ve laid horizontal with him.”

As their RHUGT: Roaring 20th castmates collectively tried to get more details, Kyle added, “I didn’t know that until last night. She said, ‘if it wasn’t for Kyle,’ she would have slept with Mauricio by now and laid horizontal with him.”

Feeling “stuck” in the hot seat, Gizelle explained the origin of the whole Mauricio situation that Kyle was referring to. By her account, she’d first commented on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG’s ex on Bravo’s Chat Room with Porsha Williams in 2020, which was three years before Kyle and Mauricio announced their separation after 27 years of marriage.

“We had joked about Mauricio in the past,” Gizelle elaborated, before telling Kyle directly, “I was rehashing that joke that you and I have discussed in the past.”

Kyle, for her part, appeared to be confused and insisted that she didn’t even know Gizelle had said anything back then, despite the RHOP ‘Wife’s claim that they’d already talked about it.

“Kyle, your husband is very attractive, OK?” Gizelle added in a RHUGT confessional. “I’m sure I’m not the only one that wanted to get horizontal. … But not anymore!”

Gizelle’s specific remarks about Mauricio that Kyle referenced on RHUGT: Roaring 20th were actually from a RHOP Season 10 confessional. At the time, Gizelle and her castmates were visiting Aspen and had a chance encounter with Mauricio on the rooftop of Kyle’s favorite hat store, Kemo Sabe.

“Mauricio is married to — I think they’re still married — to Kyle Richards, who is a Beverly Hills Housewife,” Gizelle said in a RHOP producer interview. “Mauricio would definitely be somebody that I spent some quality time with — horizontal. It’s just the Beverly Hills Kyle of it all. And I just don’t want any Beverly Hills-Potomac drama.”

During the brief meetup in Aspen, Ashley Darby seemed to have her eyes on Mauricio, but Gizelle quickly shut down any potential romance. She told Ashley and her “wingwoman,” Stacey Rusch, that Mau was “off limits” to all of them. “We’re in Kyle’s world; she’s in our world,” Gizelle explained. Even after Ashley countered “enough time [had] passed” since Kyle and Mauricio split, Gizelle still stood her ground.

Even so, Gizelle reiterated her attraction to Maurico on an episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac After Show for Season 10. “If Mauricio wasn’t connected to Kyle, I would’ve already had sex with Mauricio,” Gizelle declared. “I would have definitely pounced on him. However, he gets the panties, for sure.” Later on, she added, “He is beautiful. And he’s a good time.”

Referring to herself as a “girls’ girl,” however, Gizelle also said, “Me and Kyle aren’t friends like that at all, but I don’t think any ex-husband or husband from the Housewives… I think they’re all off limits.”

How Kyle Richards reacted to Gizelle Bryant’s remarks about Mauricio Umansky before RHUGT

After the RHOP Season 10 trailer teased a potential romance between Gizelle and Mauricio, Kyle initially shared her reaction during a joint Amazon Live with daughter Alexia Umansky in September 2025. As Kyle explained to a puzzled Alexia, “They were in Aspen, the girls from the Potomac, and I actually got… Gizelle sent me a DM, saying, ‘Oh, we bumped into him.’ Yeah, he’s in the trailer.”

Fast-forward to January 2026, and Kyle had more to say on the matter. Though she noted that in a separate Amazon Live it would be “embarrassing” if Ashley really was “flirting” with Mauricio in Aspen, the mom of four said that she had no issues with Gizelle, at the time.

“Gizelle, I will say, she texted me right away because she felt uncomfortable,” Kyle explained on the livestream. “She’s like, ‘Just so you know, we just ran into Mauricio and blah, blah, blah.’ And I was like, ‘All good.’ I mean, I don’t care, you know? Everyone can do what they want.”

As Kyle revealed on RHUGT: Roaring 20th, however, she’d only just recently learned the full extent of what Gizelle had actually said about Mauricio on camera.

Back at the “Ugly Leather Pants Party” that Sutton Stracke hosted in Episode 2 of RHUGT: Roaring 20th, Gizelle insisted that she “would never” pursue Mauricio romantically. “I apologize for the joke,” Gizelle told Kyle, who responded, “Thank you. I accept.”

In a confessional, the RHOBH ‘Wife playfully added, “I don’t know Gizelle well yet. Do I think that she feels bad about what she said about Mauricio? Probably. Do I think that she would maybe act on that anyway? Maybe.”

Either way, Gizelle had already declared her intention to support Kyle, who was already emotional on what would have been her and Mauricio’s 30th wedding anniversary, amid her ongoing separation. 

“Kyle doesn’t know all of us very well, but, like, we’ve all been through it,” Gizelle shared in a separate producer interview. “So, we know the pain, we know the other side of it. And we’re just gonna have to give her some extra love to get her to the other side.”
