PHILADELPHIA (TCN) — Police are seeking a suspect they say threatened and chased multiple people while wearing a Halloween mask.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, a woman was chased on Aug. 12 by a man in a Halloween mask.
WPTZ reports the suspect, wearing a mask depicting Chucky from the “Child’s Play” horror franchise, allegedly filmed himself with a cellphone while antagonizing multiple people around Philadelphia City Hall. He also reportedly entered a Dunkin’, where he was denied service due to the mask.
The suspect allegedly approached one woman and asked her if she was ready to die, according to WPTZ. The woman reportedly injured her leg as she attempted to run away because she was frightened.
Another witness, Luanda Marinho, told WPTZ she was out for a run with friends when they were allegedly approached. She claimed the suspect said, “‘Do you guys want to race me? I bet I am faster than you. Want to race me?’ He asked a few times, but none of us acknowledged him. Very weird.”
According to Philadelphia police, the suspect was last seen entering a public transit station. Once apprehended, the suspect will face charges including terroristic threats, harassment, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and intimidation, WLS-TV reports. Philadelphia police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
