State of Alabama executes man who raped, killed 5-year-old girl who was sex trafficked by her mother

ATMORE, Ala. (TCN) — A 41-year-old man convicted of the rape and murder of a 5-year-old girl in 2021 has been executed by lethal injection.

According to WBMA-LD, Jeremy Williams offer to pay Kristy Siple, the mother of Kamarie Holland, $2,500 to sexually abuse the child in December 2021. Williams negotiated down to $1,300 but never paid her anything, AL.com reports.

Before strangling Holland, Williams reportedly gave her methamphetamine and raped her; the act was recorded on his cellphone. Holland’s body was found under a tarp, according to WBMA-LD.

Williams was sentenced to death in 2024 after being found guilty of capital murder of a child under 14, capital murder during the course of first-degree sodomy, capital murder during the course of first-degree kidnapping, and capital murder during the course of first-degree rape.

In July 2024, Siple was sentenced to 20 to 24 years in prison after pleading guilty to human trafficking, WTVM reports. Her murder charges were dropped as part of her plea agreement.

Williams waived his appeals, the Alabama Reflector reports. Before he was executed, he reportedly said, “I want to thank God for forgiving me for my sins so I can meet him in peace. … Goodnight.” He died at 6:16 p.m. on Aug. 13.

Following his execution, Gov. Kay Ivey released a statement that read, “There are few words to adequately describe the depth and depravity of Jeremy Williams’ evil act. … The unspeakable nature of this crime is exactly why we have the death penalty statute in the state of Alabama,” the Reflector reports.

In a news conference after the execution, the Reflector reports Russell County District Attorney Rick Chancey said, “The baby didn’t die in peace. … She didn’t close her eyes and say, ‘I can meet my maker in peace.’ That baby was brutally killed. I am glad that Jeremy died in peace because that baby didn’t.”

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall also issued a statement after the execution, WBMA-LD reports. It read in part, “Justice has been served. In addition to molesting and murdering 5-year-old Kamarie Holland in 2021, Williams confessed to a series of violent crimes against children. He killed his infant daughter in Alaska, raped at least two other small children, and sexually abused his young cousin.”

Marshall continued, “At his own request, his execution was set and carried out. This is one of the most atrocious crimes we have seen against an innocent child. This lack of humanity is hard to comprehend. … For her entire life, little Kamarie was exploited by the people around her who were supposed to keep her safe. First, by a father who refused to follow a court order keeping Kamarie and her brother away from their mother, then by a mother who sold her innocent child, and then by Williams, who assaulted and murdered her.”
