New York, New York – Rockstar Games recently broke their silence as an unidentified leaker continues to share gameplay videos from Grand Theft Auto VI ahead of its highly anticipated release.
On Wednesday, the company shared a lengthy statement on X in which they described the leaks as “heartbreaking for our team.”
“While it is unfortunate that the intended game experience may now be impacted by some spoilers, we hope that everyone will wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves on November 19,” the company wrote.
The statement comes after a leaker under the name CyberLeek began sharing gameplay videos on August 18, which came days ahead of a livestream event Rockstar Games had planned to premiere on Netflix that promises an “extended look” at the game.

CyberLeek has been taunting the company and has proven the legitimacy of the content by doing very specific stunts in the game, such as spelling out their name on a wall with gunfire.
Rockstar Games – which has taken legal actions in an attempt to identify the leaker – has notably remained quiet on the issue, which they apologized for in their statement.
They also promised the livestream event will “exceed your expectations.”
GTA VI is gearing up to be one of the biggest video game releases of all time. The project has been targeted by several leaks throughout its production, with one 18-year-old hacker being sentenced to prison in December 2023.
While fans are definitely hyped for the release, nearly all of the comments to Rockstar Games’ statement criticized the company for refusing to release a physical version of the game.
