Los Angeles, California – Miley Cyrus has broken her silence following the death of her beloved godmother Dolly Parton, sharing an emotional tribute to the country music icon.

The 33-year-old singer posted a black-and-white photo of a younger Dolly on Instagram as she reflected on their deeply personal bond.
“The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share,” Miley wrote, explaining that many of their most meaningful memories would remain private.
She recalled one of their final conversations being about music and “metamorphosis,” adding that she knows Dolly would want her to channel her grief into songwriting before finding the strength to carry on.

“I have an angel by my side. I always have,” Miley added. “I will always love her and want to make her proud.”
Dolly became Miley’s godmother after forming a friendship with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, in the early 1990s.
Their relationship would span decades, with Dolly appearing as “Aunt Dolly” on Hannah Montana and collaborating and performing with Miley numerous times over the years.
Over the years, the Flowers singer frequently spoke about Dolly’s influence on both her life and career, once describing the country legend as being “like a mother” to her.
Billy ray also honored Dolly after her death, recalling their decades-long friendship and revealing she had recently send him a message saying she loved him “with her whole heart.”
“I will always love her in the same way,” he wrote. “With my whole heart.”
