Shep Rose Shares an Update on His Home Renovation (AUGUST 2026)

Shep Rose is moving along with the renovations on his “dream home” on Sullivan’s Island. The Southern Charm-er purchased a new house during Southern Charm Season 11 and is sharing major progress on it today.

Shep took to Instagram on Aug. 27, where he posted a video from his home, which has been completely gutted, opening up about the renovations. “So, here at the house. It’s coming along,” he stated in the tour, showing off the bare front porch and interiors which have been stripped to the studs. Shep also captured a photo of the exterior of the home, noting that he was meeting with his builder, Madigan Projects and, designer, Mary Welch Fox Stasik, to continue with the renovation. “There’s the guest room, which has gotten bigger,” he stated as he walked into one room. “It’s gonna be great.”

“Moving right along on the house,” he wrote in the caption of the Instagram post, noting that it’s a “big renovation” and his “future happy place.”

Shep Rose reveals his hopes for his new house

Shep appeared on the podcast, We Met at Acme, on Aug. 23, where he admitted that he does want to settle down eventually. And renovating this house is part of the settling down process.

“I’m building this house. It’s gonna be like a big boy house, dream home. Four bedrooms, four baths, and it’s right on the beach, right across the street from the beach,” he explained during the episode. “So that’s gonna be like a, ‘What are we gonna do now?’ I hope everything is leading to something with more permanence.”

Details on Shep Rose’s new house on Sullivan’s Island

Shep gave viewers a primer on the home during Southern Charm Season 11, Episode 3, explaining his motivation for purchasing the historic 5,000-square-foot house, which he bought for $3.25 million. “I recently bought this new house because I just wanted a house on Sullivan’s Island, which is one of my favorite places in the world. It’s bigger. It’s like historical,” he noted. “Four bedrooms, four baths. And I don’t know what to put in it.”

The Nothing in Moderation author continued during the episode of Southern Charm, noting that pressure from his family caused him to make the purchase and move from his pad on Isle of Palms. “My parents were a big factor in me getting the house,” he explained in a confessional. “My brother bought a big house with his two kids and wife. My sister, same thing. So for them, the normal trajectory of a guy’s life…I’m 10 years behind, maybe 15.”
