A Florida woman shot her boyfriend to death while they were in bed after an argument, while young children in the home, according to cops.
Stephanie Michelle Johnson, 42, stands accused of second-degree murder in the shooting death of 41-year-old David James Wroblewski.
The Bradford County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call around 5:30 a.m. Monday from a teen who said his younger sister called him and said their mother had killed Wroblewski. Deputies rushed to the scene, where they found Johnson outside the home in the 1000 block of Meadows Drive in Starke.
She allegedly told the first deputy to arrive that “it’s me, and we have been fighting for the last days.” Cops went inside, where they found the victim suffering a gunshot wound on the right side of his abdomen. He was pronounced dead.

Johnson was placed into a patrol car and later said she “should not have done that and should have talked to her son.”
“Evil showed up, and we’re here addressing it,” Bradford County Sheriff Gordon Smith told local Fox affiliate WFOX. “Our first concern is the well-being of the kids involved.”
Detectives later spoke to Johnson in an interview after she received her Miranda rights. She said she and Wroblewski had been together about four years but while the relationship started out well, it had been deteriorating recently, according to a probable cause arrest affidavit obtained by Law&Crime.
Wroblewski “screamed at her throughout the night” on Friday, per the affidavit. They had another argument on Saturday, though cops noted she was “unable to provide a clear chronological timeline of the events as they occurred.”
Johnson said she grabbed a gun from a nightstand as they argued. She said Wroblewski told her “I don’t give a f—, shoot me, shoot me.”
She pulled the trigger, authorities say.
“Stephanie recalled hearing the gunshot and stated that she smelled a burning odor afterward,” detectives wrote. “She advised that her anxiety increased following the discharge, at which time she took a diazepam pill and smoked part of David’s marijuana joint.”
The suspect said they were both naked because they had sex earlier, so she put Wroblewski’s underwear on him.
She said she was never in fear of her life during the incident and Wroblewski had never been violent toward her.
Cops arrested her and took her to the Bradford County Jail. Her next court date is not listed.
