An Ohio woman has been sentenced for killing a man who tried to confront her after a fender bender in a grocery store parking lot.
Danielle Henry, 35, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide on Aug. 11, less than one year after she was arrested in connection with the death of Ibrahim Diakite. On Oct. 22, 2025, Henry and Diakite got into a minor car accident in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store in Westerville, Ohio. After Henry drove out of the lot, Diakite drove after her until they were both stopped at a red light at an intersection.
Diakite got out of his car, walked up to Henry’s, and stood in front of her car to keep her from driving away. Police said he climbed onto the hood of her car, and Henry abruptly accelerated, flinging Diakite off the car.

Diakite landed in the road, and Henry ran over him. She kept driving and dragged Diakite more than 300 feet before his body was released from underneath her car. Diakite died at the hospital.
According to reporting by local CBS affiliate WBNS, Westerville Police Chief Holly Murchland said Henry had several warrants out for her arrest at the time of the incident. She also confirmed that Henry was driving a car that was stolen when she hit Diakite.
Murchland told WBNS, “[Henry] was obviously willing to do whatever she could to keep from being caught by the police and showed herself to be a danger to the community.”
Henry was originally charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, involuntary manslaughter, hit-skip — or hit-and-run — on private property, failure to comply with order or signal of police, and seven additional misdemeanor charges.
On Aug. 27, a judge sentenced Henry to up to 5 1/2 years in prison; she is required to serve at least four years. The judge also permanently suspended her driver’s license.
