A Florida teen beat and stabbed his girlfriend then ignored her as she collapsed and lay dying in front of him on the floor, claiming he thought she was “playing around and wanted attention,” cops allege.

Isaiah Campbell, 19, told police that his girlfriend, Nicole Lopez, 21, eventually died so he then covered her with a white sheet as he was “tired of looking at her,” according to an arrest report.

“Flies started to swarm the body,” the report says.

Campbell was arrested on Thursday following a domestic violence call to his residence in Columbia County. According to the arrest report, Campbell called police around 4:19 a.m. to report that his girlfriend was not breathing.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they entered the home and located Lopez in the kitchen; her body was already cold and stiff, according to cops. Campbell was detained and questioned about what happened.

“[Campbell] was visibly upset and crying during the interview,” the arrest report says. “Isaiah explained that he blacked out and didn’t mean to kill her.”

According to Campbell, he and Lopez started to argue and Lopez “began to strike him in the chest and arm,” per the arrest report. “[Campbell] stated he became enraged and began to strike [Lopez] in her face several times.”

Campbell allegedly told police he saw Lopez fall to the floor after she said she felt “lightheaded.” He claimed that he then went into another room “to calm down,” according to the arrest report.

“Isaiah stated he felt as if she was playing around and wanted attention,” the report says. “He did not check on her when she fell. Isaiah sat in another room for about 30 minutes to calm down.”

Campbell claimed he returned to find Lopez on her back “and not responding,” according to police. He said he did CPR for about an hour before covering her with the sheet and calling 911.

“Isaiah stated he was extremely scared and did not know what to do,” the arrest report says. “Isaiah advised after the panic started to reside, he called 911.”

In addition to facial swelling and widespread bruising, investigators documented multiple puncture wounds on Lopez’s body where she appeared to be stabbed, according to police. Investigators also found blood spatter throughout the house, as well as blood under Campbell’s fingernails and on his shoes.

Campbell claimed he never stabbed Lopez and only struck her in the face. He is charged with murder and is being held at the Columbia County Detention Facility without bond.
