Los Angeles, California – Selena Gomez got real on embracing her next chapter and why she believes fans are so obsessed with her 2016 style!

The Rare Beauty founder, who will soon be honored with the inaugural Beauty Impact Award, told People in a cover story, “Getting older has been so much fun. I’m not scared at all. I love getting older.”
Selena continued, “Yeah, things are going to change, and things are going to sag, but you’re alive. I think age is just a number in many ways.”
The 34-year-old also addressed her viral 2016 smoky eye glam, and while she enjoys the nostalgia, she admitted that the frequent social media throwbacks are “intense.”

Selena explained, “I always make this joke where I think people want to freeze me in time to that period of my life,” adding that she was “trying to be cool” despite it being a “such a hectic period in my life.”

The Same Old Love hitmaker further shared, “I think people always want me to look the way I did, and that’s just not going to happen.”
“Sometimes people don’t like the natural beauty look, but that’s kind of my whole identity now, is really connecting with just natural beauty,” she said.
One of the things that Selena is focused on these days is her marriage to Benny Blanco, as the pair is about to celebrate their first anniversary.

Selena added, “I love it. It just feels so wonderful to have a partner that actually genuinely listens and just meets you right where you are, whatever that mood or day looks like, and that’s all I could ask for. I just need him, and I love him, so it’s pretty great.”
