
INDIANAPOLIS (TCN) — A 46-year-old man has been convicted of 10 felony counts in connection with child sexual abuse and exploitation.
WXIN reports that that the investigation into Joseph Lin began in October 2024 when school officers found a diary belonging to a child that contained entries detailing the sexual abuse of two young children. The entries stated that the abuse went on for years.
According to court documents obtained by WXIN, Lin would message the victims on Facebook and Instagram using fake accounts and would ask them to “sext” him. In an interview with police, a victim stated that Lin would record videos of the abuse, WTHR reports.
Lin has a previous criminal history including multiple counts of domestic battery and battery of a child under 14, according to WXIN.
He was arrested March 3, 2025. According to WTHR, he was convicted of six felony counts of child molestation, three felony counts of child exploitation, and one misdemeanor charge of invasion of privacy on Sept. 16. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Oct. 16.
