Steve McBee Sr Opens Up About Life as a Grandpa After Prison

Steve McBee Sr. is witnessing so many firsts as a grandfather following his return from prison. The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys patriarch is the grandfather of three granddaughters and is so happy to be with all of them after serving a nearly nine-month-long sentence. 

Steve Sr. took to his Instagram account on Sept. 16, where he revealed that he watched Cole McBee and Kacie Adkison’s oldest daughter, Blair Collins McBee, for the first time. In the video, Steve Sr. can be seen carrying the baby in his arms throughout his house while he talked directly into the camera, and his dog, Gunner, ran by his feet. “Look who papa gets to watch solo!” he exclaimed. “Alright, we get to go out and play now.”

Blair, who turned a year old in December 2025 right after Steve Sr. went away to prison, didn’t go easy on her papa. “Well, my first time watching Blair Bear solo…if you’re keeping score…Papa-0 vs Blair Bear-1. She won lol. I’m whipped…didn’t sit down for one minute for four hours…Good thing I was in shape from walking laps around the track. Best 4 hours I’ve had in a long time…So blessed. God is so good,” he wrote in the caption of the post.

Kacie took to the comments of the post, where she applauded Steve Sr. on his babysitting skills. “Glad you survived the Blair chase,” she wrote. “Thank you for watching her!!”

Cole McBee shares a look at Steve McBee Sr. meeting his youngest daughter for the first time

Steve Sr. had met Cole and Kacie’s youngest daughter, Tate Colette McBee, for the first time following his release from prison on Sept. 11. Cole took to his Instagram Story, where he posted a photo of Steve Sr. standing in a house while holding Tate in his arms and smiling for the camera shortly after his release.

“So blessed to have the family back together. Dad and Tate have officially got to meet now,” Cole wrote over the photo.

Steve McBee Sr. makes a statement about being returning home with his family after prison

Steve Sr. has done more than just hang out with family since returning home from prison. Earlier this week, he took to his Instagram account, where he revealed that he was spending some time on his farm. “A little more appreciation for the simple things in life…Thank you, Lord, for all the blessings in my life,” he wrote following his return to the family farm.

He’s also been hanging out with his dog. “Life’s good,” he wrote over a video of Gunner lying next to his truck. “My man ‘Gunner’ helping clean the out building.”
