During Daisy Toye’s Passover Seder that kicked off during RHONY Season 16, Episode 3, Erin clapped back at Hailey previously referring to her as “boring” to some of their castmates by gifting her a jar of “bougie jam.” (ICYMI: Hailey had compared Erin to the jam “you don’t care about” on diner tables.)
“You’re calling me boring?” Erin asked while confronting the newbie in front of the group. “Listen, Hailey, I’d rather be boring than break up a marriage of a man who has eight children.”
As Hailey expressed confusion over the resurfaced accusation, Erin asked, “So what do you have to say?” With that, Hailey held up her hand and let out a long sigh, but a “To Be Continued…” graphic appeared onscreen before she could directly address Erin’s claim about her past relationship with Jon.

Hailey described Jon as being “best friends” with her mom years before Jon & Kate Plus 8 premiered in 2007. By Hailey’s account, her plastic surgeon father had performed a tummy tuck on Kate after she gave birth to her sextuplets in May 2004, and her mother assisted in her recovery. “And from there, they became family friends,” Hailey said.

When did Hailey Glassman and Jon Gosselin start dating?
Because Jon and Kate “were separated and couldn’t tell the public,” in 2009, per Hailey, he asked the Glassmans if he could temporarily move into their family home. Hailey said that she was a 22-year-old student at Indiana University at the time, and when she came home from college that year, her friendship with Jon turned romantic.
“At that point, they were already separated and not together, but the public didn’t know,” Hailey told Jessel on RHONY. “So, a friendship turned into more. We were on my dad’s yacht, and someone got a photo of us.”
The images of Hailey and Jon together on her family’s yacht quickly spread through the tabloids. She recalled headlines referring to her as “Homewrecking Hailey,” along with narratives claiming that she’d “ruined a family of eight.”
“That was never the story,” Hailey insisted. “But remember, the media doesn’t post the truth. They only care about salacious lies.”

Though she did not specify when she and Jon broke up, Hailey cited the intense media scrutiny while explaining why their relationship ended. “When you’re in the media and you’re in the tabloids, it’s awful,” she said. “And I was just so beaten down.”

According to Hailey, the “whole ordeal” ultimately “ruined [her] life.” After she and Jon split, Hailey reconnected with her childhood friend and now-husband, Rubin, in Martha’s Vineyard. The two have been married for 15 years and have what she has described as a “lavender marriage.”
“The whole Jon Gosselin situation, if that never happened, my life would be completely different today,” Hailey said in a producer interview. “I would’ve never married Rubin. I would’ve never [chosen] a life based off safety and survival. I didn’t choose a life that I wanted for myself. I chose a life to be safe, and I needed to protect myself and my soul.”
Her need for “crisis management” at the time also inspired Hailey’s career in the public relations field. “My misfortune could be someone’s survival guide someday,” she explained to Jessel.

Despite their split, Hailey and Jon are on good terms today. On Sept. 15, Hailey reposted an Instagram photo of her posing with Jon and his current wife, Stephanie Gosselin, at the RHONY Season 16 premiere party. Stephanie, who originally shared the image, noted in the post’s caption that she, Hailey, and Jon are all friends. Hailey, for her part, commented, “Love you babe. Family for life.”
