“My mother-in-law usually throws at least one big, huge party a year,” Emily explained in a confessional from RHOC‘s Oct. 1 episode. “Everything’s very Persian themed. I mean, she was born and raised in Tehran, and so she likes to celebrate that and share that with everyone.”

Among the guests Pery shared her Persian culture with at the soiree were RHOC‘s Gina Kirschenheiter, Tamra Judge, Heather Dubrow (along with her mother, Carole), Jennifer Pedranti, Carmella Garcia, Shannon Storms Beador, and Vicki Gunvalson. Upon arriving at the party, Gina, for one, remarked, “Nobody does it like the Simpsons.”

Read on for more details about Pary and Larry and find out how their wealth previously sparked rumors about them funding Shane and Emily’s lifestyle on RHOC.

Who are Shane’s parents, Pary and Larry Simpson?

The rumors that Shane Simpson’s parents “bankroll” his and Emily Simpson’s lifestyle, explained

The rumors that Shane’s parents “bankroll” his and Emily’s lives previously arose in a fan question during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in November 2019. When the viewer asked her if the speculation was true, Emily responded, “Well, it’s no secret that Shane’s parents are very wealthy. And so, he has lots of investments that they set up for him. I never made that a secret.”

Years later during the RHOC Season 18 reunion, which aired in November 2024, Jenn revived the claim amid an unrelated conflict, telling Emily, “I’ve read that your in-laws fund your whole life.”

Though Emily did not immediately respond to Jenn repeating the rumor about Shane’s parents’ finances at the reunion, she did issue a denial afterward via her Instagram Stories. “If my in-laws ‘funded our lifestyle’ I’d be living WAY larger than I am right now. I’d be on private jets with Heather Dubrow,” Emily captioned her post at the time, adding, “They do not.”

Do Shane and Emily Simpson get their money from his parents?

In addition to the previously mentioned investments that Shane’s parents set up for him, he and Emily have both worked as lawyers and also co-host the Legally Brunette podcast. As Shane revealed in RHOC Season 20, however, he quit his job and is currently a stay-at-home dad.

“As the kids’ needs are growing, and Emily’s days are getting busier, it just made more sense that one parent not be working and try to stay at home and take the kids to school and all their activities,” he explained in a confessional from Episode 8. “And then she could kind of run around with her head cut off like a chicken and do whatever she wants to do.”

Shane went on to confirm to Emily that he did miss working, however. “I’ve got an ego,” he added in his producer interview. “I’m a man, and I want to provide. But even when I had a full-time job, I felt I was always full-time at home.”

As the two continue to navigate their marital conflicts on RHOC, find out where Emily and Shane stand today.
