After more than three decades as a couple, Angie Katsanevas and Shawn Trujillo decided to end their marriage in July 2026, and viewers watched Angie begin to face hard truths about the breakdown of their relationship during the filming of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 7, Episode 4.

Although she’d kept quiet about their marital troubles up until this point, Angie finally revealed to Heather Gay, “I’m just, like, in a really hard time in my marriage right now.”
“I hate to say that out loud,” she added during RHOSLC’s Oct. 7 episode. “You said something to me once. You said you went through times where you were just smiling. And you were struggling. And you didn’t say anything. And I remember thinking, ‘I feel like that sometimes.’ And then like as time goes on, I feel like that more and more.”
As Angie opened up to Heather, she confessed her confusing feelings. “I want it to be perfect, and it’s just not right now,” she said. “I’ve been in love with him since I was 21. I love Shawn. I just don’t know what I want right now.”

Angie began to process the issues in her marriage to Shawn during RHOSLC’s Oct. 7 episode, and even shared she was considering a separation or split.
“You start to really reflect and look at like, what’s left of your life. And it’s like, ‘Whoa, how much longer can I do this?’ You know?” she wondered out loud to producers.
She explained when things began to change in her marriage, and revealed a turning point was when she joined RHOSLC in Season 4.
“For a lot of years, I was going along with Shawn, and what he wanted to do. ‘Where do you want to eat? What do you want to watch? What do you want to listen to?’ But, having an opinion started to matter more to me,” she said. “I met Shawn as a little girl. And I met most of these women as an adult woman, so if I think something, I say it. I feel something, I say it. I’ve been more vocal than Shawn has been used to.”
She shared they also began to drift apart the older they got. “We just have different views and different ideologies,” she said as she teared up. “It’s hard.”

Angie had a vulnerable conversation with Heather, who’s divorced, about the struggles in a longtime marriage. “We are incredible business partners. We put everything into raising our daughter together. Like we’re such a great team,” she said. “But, you change with age, like, you probably know this having been married, you just change. And you’re like, ‘Am I still happy?’”
Angie shared more with producers about the current state of her marriage. “Shawn and I, we are co-existing. But not connecting. We’re quiet with each other. We’re not sharing with each other, ‘What’s going on in your day?’”
When a producer asked Angie if she and Shawn were still “intimate,” she confessed, “Let’s just say we’re not acting like a married couple.”

Angie opened up on how difficult it was to reconcile the idea of divorce from Shawn while raising their teenage daughter, Elektra.
“It’s just hard to say it out loud. It’s hard to accept,” Angie confessed to producers during the Oct. 6 episode. “I was raised to believe in marriage.”
She then revealed her fear of hurting her daughter. “You made a promise to your kid when you brought them into the world to give them a great life,” she said. “Being able to come home to both parents. I’m scared I can’t give that to her.”
Angie described how she was trying to stay as normal as possible for Elektra while also weighing divorce. “I mean, I’m definitely overcompensating right now for Elektra. Just staying positive,” she said.

But Angie also admitted that her teenager probably knew more than she let on about the shaky situation. “Sometimes I think the interactions that she sees with Shawn and I, she can probably feel, you know, some tension,” she said.
