A Colorado man allegedly attacked a homeowner he did not even know while passing by his house.
Kendan Lubovich, 33, is being held at the Arapahoe County Jail without bond in connection with an attack on a homeowner in Aurora, Colorado. According to reporting by local NBC affiliate KUSA, Lubovich was caught on surveillance camera walking down the sidewalk in front of the home of 63-year-old Tom Ruszkowski. Ruszkowski told KUSA that he was in his garage when Lubovich allegedly sneaked up behind him and started beating him.
When asked if Lubovich said anything to him, Ruszkowski said, “Not one word.”

Ruszkowski told KUSA that on Oct. 18, he was doing work outside the house just before the alleged attack. “The next thing I know, boom, I got punched right in the back of the head.” He added, “He jumped on me and just continued to pummel me the whole time I was on the ground in the garage.”
KUSA spoke to Ruszkowski’s daughter, Amanda McClain, who was woken up when she heard her children screaming. Ruszkowski’s wife also ran to the garage to help her husband. McClain said she heard her children say, “Someone’s hitting Grandpa.”
McClain told KUSA that she tried to beat Lubovich with a Swiffer and a baseball bat to get him off her father. Lubovich eventually fled the scene but was found by police at a neighbor’s house and arrested.
Ruszkowski spoke on camera with KUSA and could be seen with several facial injuries that required staples and sutures. He also lost a tooth and suffered an injury to his shoulder.
KUSA reported that Lubovich was out on bail in connection with three pending assault cases in other counties. All three of those cases are on hold as officials try to establish whether Lubovich is mentally competent.
Lubovich was charged with assault and appeared in court on Wednesday. His next court date was not publicly available.
