While filming The Real Housewives of New York City Season 16, Jessel Taank’s marriage to Pavit Randhawa was lacking communication, among other things, as she confided in castmate Sai De Silva amid their recent relationship struggles.

During her sit-down with Sai in RHONY Episode 9, Jessel admitted that she and Pavit were in a “very bizarre” place at the moment, elaborating, “We do not communicate. I’ve been, like, doing some really exciting things with work recently, and he just doesn’t even acknowledge, like, anything that I’m doing.”
The fashion publicist went on to detail their family’s daily schedule, which, as of late, had included her and her husband of 10 years only briefly coming together on matters relating to their 5-year-old twin sons, Kai and Rio. By her account, after they’d already spent the majority of the day apart, Pavit was not even saying goodnight to her before he went to bed at night.
“He does not acknowledge I exist,” Jessel claimed. “Honestly, I low-key thinks he actually, like, hates me. I think he despises me.”

In a confessional, Jessel added, “I keep a lot of this to myself because I’ve been brought up to kind of keep things in the closet. But I can’t do that anymore. That situation we’re in is very, very frustrating. I don’t know how long it can go on for.”
A producer then questioned if Jessel was still “in love with Pavit,” to which she responded, “I feel like, yes, but I don’t want to be married to someone that doesn’t have, like, dreams and, like, doesn’t want to better himself and doesn’t know how to communicate back. I keep telling him, like, ‘There has to be more here. I need more from you.’ But I don’t know if he has the ability to change.”

When Sai, meanwhile, suggested that “maybe there’s some resentment there,” since Jessel was busy working to support their family while Pavit tried to get his new career as a food influencer off the ground, she agreed that was a possibility. “I never thought that I would be this way with someone that’s, like, so close to me,” Jessel said.
“I don’t see a path forward if there is no communication,” she added, noting that she could “already feel” her and Pavit growing apart. “It’s not great. It’s not.”
Are Jessel and Pavit still together today?
Fast-forward to now, and Jessel and Pavit are still together. In a September 2026 interview with Bravo Insider, she even credited their success as a couple to them taking some time apart to focus on their individual interests and passions, from time to time.
“I think Pavit has always been someone that literally lets me do whatever I want, and I think that independence coexisting outside of our marriage is so important,” Jessel exclusively shared.
“I think a lot of married couples feel like they have to do everything together and spend weekends and go to dinners and we do that, but at the same time, I love my alone time, too,” she added. “And I love to have my own personality outside of my marriage. I’m really growing myself professionally and personally as well, so that’s really important.”

Plus, Jessel said that, since filming, Pavit has successfully merged his professional background in finance with his more recent interest in creating culinary-based content on social media.
“I think he’s found a perfect balance of food and corporate strategy,” Jessel explained to Bravo Insider. “He’s started a company, and he’s actually having a dining program, so we’re really excited for him.”
