Los Angeles, California – Hailey Bieber reflected on the “intense” journey she experienced with premenstrual dysphoric disorder after she gave birth to her son, Jack.
During an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, the Rhode founder dished on her experience with PMDD after welcoming her son with Justin Bieber.
Hailey said that the condition, which can bring extreme mood swings around the menstrual period, brought emotional symptoms that worsened “especially after having my own child.”
“That was just a really intense and special journey that I had,” she explained.

“There’s so much that happens when you are pregnant, during childbirth. There’s so many things that happen leading up to having a child.”
The 29-year-old also emphasized the lack of information surrounding the disorder, adding, “After I had my son, I struggled with that a bit, and there’s just not a lot of conversation or research around it.”
Hailey said further that speaking out about the diagnosis has made her feel “less alone,” and she wants to keep the conversation going for other women going through similar situations.
“When we can identify with each other and have conversations relating to each other and talking about the things we’re dealing with and struggling with, I do think it makes it feel like less of a lonely journey,” she shared.
