On the morning of Dec. 26, Denver Police tweeted they were conducting an outdoor death investigation near the 4900 block of N. Salida Street. Police said the victim, Tayanna Manuel, was a juvenile female and that her death was determined to be a homicide.

They did not reveal her cause of death.

Police also shared a photo of a 2012 gray Honda CR-V and said the vehicle is “believed to be involved in her murder.”

According to KDVR-TV, Manuel’s body was discovered by a dumpster in the city’s Green Valley Ranch neighbourhood.

The Dock Ellis Foundation worked alongside Manuel’s family and said she was missing and likely endangered. According to KDVR, her family reported her missing Saturday, Dec. 24

On Friday, Dec. 23, just days before Manuel was found dead, Denver Police responded to a shooting on the 4600 block of North Kittredge Street and transported a male “with an unknown extent of injuries.”

Manuel’s family told KDVR her boyfriend was the victim in the Dec. 23 shooting.

Tayanna Manuel’s sister, Nyrobi, said, “He was found, but she wasn’t. So we were under the impression she was missing.”

Denver Police are offering up to $2,000 as a reward for information regarding the case or the whereabouts of the Honda CR-V.
