Virginia Parents Donna Daugherty And John Daugherty Allegedly killed By Adopted 15-Year-Old Son
On Tuesday, Jan. 10, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Chesapeake Police officers responded to a home on the 1800 block of Peartree Street to a report of injured people inside, WAVY-TV reports. At the scene, officers reportedly found two deceased adults, who were later identified as 61-year-old Donna Daugherty and her husband, 60-year-old John Daugherty.

Investigators said they have not yet identified a motive for the murders, WAVY reported.
The 15-year-old has been charged with two counts of aggravated murder in connection with the slaying of his adoptive parents, WVEC reported.
Neighbor Eddie Gray said the couple had appeared to be devoted parents to their son and he said he was blown away by what had happened, WAVY reported.
“I mean, I just can’t believe this even happened. I’m still shocked by it,” Gray said.
He said he’d seen their son out and about at times but didn’t know him well.
Neighbour Etta Seagle, who said she knew the Daughertys but not very well, was equally surprised by the tragedy, WAVY reported.
“I’m stunned. I really am stunned,” Seagle said.
