Step Father Jimmy Ray Brafford Charged With Child Felony And Domestic Abuse
According to a statement, on Jan. 10, deputies from the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit received a report about suspected child abuse. A 12-year-old and 13-year-old reportedly had bruising on their bodies and other markings that were “consistent with that of a beating.”
The children reported that their stepfather, 35-year-old Jimmy Ray Brafford, had punished them for not performing their chores to his satisfaction.
Brafford reportedly fled the residence and was later caught by the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office at his parent’s home in Caswell County.
He reportedly left the home and was later arrested at his parent’s home in Caswell County, then taken to Alamance County Detention Center, where he was served with Domestic Violence Protection Orders.
Brafford was given a $100,000 bond and charged with two counts of felony child abuse inflicting serious injury and two counts of felony assault by strangulation.
