The bodycam footage released by the North Las Vegas Police Department shows the passenger, 23-year-old Raenysa Washington, unconscious and the driver, Kaleah Shaelle Manning, 25, appearing dazed as the officer begins to speak to her.

According to the arrest report, Manning’s speech was slurred and smelled of alcohol. Her blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit.

Police say the children’s aunt was driving drunk after splitting a bottle of tequila with a friend. Washington, their mother, had also been drinking and was sitting in the passenger seat.

One of the children died at the scene of the crash and the other toddler passed away at the hospital.

Officials said no child safety seats were in the car. They were removed because they belonged to someone else.

Videos from the North Las Vegas Police Department further show the moment both women learned they were being charged with the deaths of the two toddlers while they laid in hospital beds.

When the officer finished reading Washington her charges, she asked, “Are you serious?”

Manning made a wheelchair appearance in court on Monday. Washington is still at the hospital.

The children, both girls, have been identified as 2-year-old Rose Wilmer who died at the scene of the crash, and 3-year-old Taylor Wilmer who died at University Medical Center.
