Samantha Lynn Connelly, 33, and Tarrell Lashawn Nelson, 30, face multiple charges relating to the incident, although it’s unclear why they did what they did, WSB reported.

Investigators said Connelly blocked the bus while Nelson pulled a gun in front of the vehicle. There were no injuries.

Officials said Nelson was charged with third-degree cruelty to children; two counts of terroristic threats and acts; receipt, possession, or transport of a firearm by a convicted felon or felony first offender; and knowingly, intentionally or reckless disruption of the operation of public school/bus/bus stop.

A Glynn County man and woman are facing felony charges after brandishing a gun and standing in front of a school bus carrying roughly 20 elementary aged children, the Glynn County Schools Police chief said Tuesday.

Samantha Lynn Connelly, 33, was allegedly angry over an ongoing complaint with the school bus driver about where the bus stopped to pick up her child, said schools police chief Rod Ellis. Connelly wanted the bus to stop in front of her house to pick up her child instead of down the road at the community bus stop in the area of Canal Road and Glass Circle, he said.

The driver had explained to Connelly previously that children must be picked up at the designated bus stop, Ellis said.

Connelly was charged with knowingly, intentionally or reckless disruption of public school/bus/bus stop operation, false statements or writing, and concealing facts of fraudulent documents in government matters

Both were booked into the Glynn County Detention Center. Jail records indicate Connelly has been released, while Nelson remains behind bars.
