Who Was Mack Gallagher?
Mackenzie Michael Gallagher was born on June 8th, 1997 to parents Pat and Monica Gallagher in New Orleans, Louisiana. He went on to attend Berchmans Academy, where he quickly established himself as one of the most popular students in school, known for his easy smile and gentle spirit. During his four years at Berchmans, Mack became captain of the varsity basketball team as well as an active member of several clubs including Future Business Leaders of America and National Honor Society. After graduating from Berchmans in 2015 with high honors, he attended Louisiana State University where he majored in Business Administration.
At LSU, he continued to stay involved with campus activities such as tutoring other students and leading student organizations like Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Upon graduating from LSU in 2019, Mack returned home to Lafayette where he worked as an accountant for a local firm while continuing to pursue his passion for basketball by helping coach younger players at various camps throughout Louisiana. His strong faith also guided him through life’s challenges; on March 1st, 2023 at 11:00AM Mass will be held in his honor at St. Mary’s Church in Lafayette where all are invited to come together to mourn his passing and celebrate his life.
