Obituary | Geri Lynn Zorin of Eagle Butte, South Dakota

November 15, 1965 – January 20, 2023

Geri Lynn Zorin, 57, of Eagle Butte passed away Friday, January 20, 2023, at IHS Hospital in Eagle Butte. Arrangements are with Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. 

Geri Lynn Zorin was born on November 15, 1965 in San Francisco, CA to Doraine LaPlante an Anthony Zorin. She entered the spirit world on January 20, 2023 at the I.H.S in Eagle Butte, SD.

In her younger years she attended school in different areas in California and in Evansville, Indiana.

She returned to Eagle Butte where she graduated High school from C-EB, working various jobs until she enrolled in college.

She had her daughter Krystal Leigh in May of 1984.

Geri Lynn was determined to get her education in teaching. She accomplished just that by getting her Master’s degree in Education.

She had a love for all children an she devoted her life to teaching them. She worked for many years as a Kindergarten teacher and a principal for the K-2^nd grade, retiring in 2015.

She then became the Director of the Cheyenne River Head Start for 6 years.

Geri Lynn is survived by her mother, Doraine LaPlante, sister Dawn LaPlante, Her beloved grandchildren, Shanity, Hoksila jr., Angel, Matthew, Her great grandchildren Ashton and Hayden, Nieces Justina and Shyne, Nephew Trevor.

She is met in the spirit world by her daughter, Krystal Leigh Zorin, grandparents Donovan and Evelyn Rose (Red Dog) Moran, Aunts Clara, Linnell, and Mary Moran, Sister Tiffany LaPlante, Nephew Tre’ Pearman, Cousins Benjamin Williams, Dayton, and Justin Moran.
