MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (TCD) — An 80-year-old man was arrested and charged after his wife’s body was found with apparent stab wounds in their garage.
According to a news release from the Murfreesboro Police Department, on Thursday, March 16, at approximately 4 p.m., officers received “a call for an unknown problem” and responded to a home on the 4700 block of Swanson Drive. At the scene, police found the victim, 68-year-old Thatsaphone Saysourinho, “suffering from stab wounds and trauma to the body,” and she was pronounced dead.
Before officers’ arrival, the victim’s husband, Phokam Saysourinho, reportedly left the scene. According to police, officers performed a traffic stop near Gateway Boulevard and took him into custody. He was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing.
