Newly released body camera footage shows what happened when pop superstar Britney Spears was pulled over for speeding in September.
After a California Highway Patrol Officer pulled Spears over at around 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 10 for driving at least 60 mph in a 45 mph zone, Spears is heard apologizing repeatedly.
“My license actually is with my security at home,” she tells the officer after he asks to see her license, registration and insurance. “I don’t have it with me right now at this moment. I’m so sorry, but it’s like, 10 minutes away.”
“I’m so sorry, please forgive me,” she also says.
Spears explains that she “just flew in from overseas” and that her security team has her license and registration at her residence.
The officer, appearing to recognize the internationally known singer, reminds her that he has seen her before under similar conditions.
“I stopped you before out here for speeding!” he tells her as Spears continues to apologize. “I gave you a break last time.”
According to law enforcement, Spears paid the citations for driving without a license or insurance. She was not cited for speeding.
