A soldier, her husband and their two children were found dead Wednesday afternoon inside the home at the the US Army’s Fort Stewart in southeastern Georgia.
Post officials said members of the soldier’s unit requested a welfare check, the Army Times reported.
Army investigators said the family had been identified but declined to release the information. They also called the deaths an “isolated incident” and didn’t say if they were seeking suspects.
Fort Stewart, the Army’s biggest post east of the Mississippi River, is home to the 3rd Infantry Division. The post is about 50 miles southwest of Savannah, near Hinesville.
