Police Find Mother Running Naked After Killing Daughter, Has Previous Child Injury Conviction – Crime Online

A Texas woman charged with the capital murder of a child was previously on parole for a 2010 conviction related to injury to a child.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers responded to the Frontera Crossing apartment complex in the 13000 block of Watson Road On Wednesday, concerning a disturbance. A little after 3 p.m., officers encountered the suspect, Nephiterea Sancho, exhibiting erratic behavior.

Neighbors initially found a child, identified as 6-year-old Hosanna Sancho unresponsive, with an apparent upper body wound.

“Initially it was very chaotic as officers arrived, separating witnesses and people who were involved,” Sergeant Washington Moscoso said. A 6-year-old victim was discovered deceased.”

Police said that the victim was Nephiterea Sancho’s daughter but didn’t disclose the reason for the attack. Detectives are currently trying to determine what happened to the victim but said her death occurred due to a traumatic injury

Sancho, who was discovered running naked at the scene, was subsequently arrested and charged with capital murder of a child under 10, KENS 5 reports.

Online court records indicate Sancho had a prior 2010 conviction of injury to a child. She entered a plea of not guilty because of insanity in that case. She was then placed in a state hospital in Vernon, in 2011.

Court records also indicated that Sancho has a severe mental illness, indicating a likelihood of causing serious bodily harm without proper treatment and supervision. Following her release from the state hospital, she underwent outpatient treatment while on parole.

In 2021, she was arrested for a parole violation due to non-compliance with treatment. She was again transferred to a state hospital, but details about her subsequent release remain unclear.

According to Fox SA, the defendant is currently pregnant.

Meanwhile, family members described the victim as an athlete who enjoyed a variety of sports.

“She played the violin, learned how to do the perfect cartwheels, and was teaching her cousins how to do it too. She loved to swim and loved the water. She wanted to be a cheerleader and ride the school bus for the first time, and she never got to do that,” the family said.

The story is developing. Check back for updates.
