Former Attorney Gets Less Than 2 Years in Prison For Soliciting Sex From Clients in Lieu of Payment – Crime Online

A former Pennsylvania defense attorney was sentenced to up to 23 months in prison for soliciting sex from his clients in lieu of payment for services.

Corey Kolcharno, 49, pleaded guilty to four counts of promoting prostitution and was required to surrender his license to practice law, Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry said.

“The defendant’s behavior in these cases was despicable. He preyed on clients and their relatives who  had fallen on hard times and exploited their vulnerabilities for his own gratification,” Henry said. “This sentencing holds Kolcharno accountable for his crimes.”

Kolcharno was sentenced to 4 to 23 months in prison followed by 2 years probation.

Investigators found that Kocharno victimized clents and one client’s sister between 2018 and 2022. Many of the women he victimized “were struggling with addiction, had a history of being sexually abused, or were enduring other challenges,” the attorney general’s office said.

Investigators said that Kolcharno’s modus operandi would begin with a discussion of the women’s legal issues, then continue to compliment their looks before assaultin them. If they refused his advances, he would request nude photos or worn undergarments instead of payment, WBRE reported.

The Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office referred the case to the attorney general for prosecution. Kolcharno was an assistant district attorney in the county from 2005 to 2011.
