A man allegedly sparked an Amber Alert in New Hampshire by shooting the mother of his daughters in the head and abducting the girls before cops arrested him at an Applebee’s.
Dustin Mark Duren, 37, is charged with second-degree murder, according to Manchester ABC affiliate WMUR.
Cops in the city of Berlin and their state counterparts responded to an apartment at 1063 Main Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, stated the New Hampshire Department of Justice. They found Caitlyn Naffziger, 31, dead. She had reportedly been shot in the head.
The suspicious death sparked an Amber Alert. Her two daughters, a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old, were last seen with the biological father, Duren, at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday.
The search came to an end on Friday. Video from arrest witness Tonya Hansen showed cops apprehending Duren at gunpoint. They ordered him out of the white Subaru Impreza that authorities had described in the Amber Alert.
The girls were found safe.

“My son recognized the car and said, ‘Oh my gosh, Mom, that’s the Amber Alert from this morning,’” Hansen said, according to Manchester ABC affiliate WMUR. “It was after the police had already figured it out. There were some citizens who recognized the car earlier and called.”
Duren’s arraignment is set for Monday.
