Jetmir Pemaj, a 33-year-old Albanian citizen, met a tragic end when he was fatally stabbed during a violent clash in Wolverhampton, England, on July 27, 2023. The incident unfolded in the early hours of the morning on Harrow Street, Whitmore Reans, as part of a botched burglary attempt at a cannabis factory, resulting in a fatal stabbing. Pemaj succumbed to a severe knife wound to the abdomen sustained during the altercation. Another individual, Franc Curri, also suffered stab wounds but survived the assault.
The confrontation arose between two rival criminal factions, with Pemaj and his associate endeavoring to defend a cannabis crop within a rented property on Newhampton Road from intruders.
Lucious Winchester, a 24-year-old resident of Quinton, was identified as the assailant who stabbed both Pemaj and Curri following their pursuit and apprehension of him in a nearby street. Winchester had been serving as a lookout for the burglary group.
Winchester faced justice on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, receiving a 15-year prison sentence after confessing to the manslaughter of Pemaj, the injuring of Curri, and the aggravated burglary at Wolverhampton Crown Court. Judge Michael Chambers KC underscored the violent nature of the incident, stemming from a pre-existing cannabis operation that culminated in a clash between rival factions.

A thorough police inquiry led to Winchester’s apprehension, with authorities recovering three discarded knives in the vicinity, which were traced back to him. Detective Inspector Ade George of the West Midlands Police homicide unit, who spearheaded the investigation, conveyed condolences for the tragic loss of Jetmir Pemaj, recognizing the anguish endured by his family and the necessity of serving justice.
