Miami Gardens Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic violence incident at the residence. Upon arrival, officers found Maldonado on her knees in the driveway, covered in blood, with a 6-inch butcher knife next to her.

Maldonado allegedly confessed to killing the father of her young son, stating, “He attacked me and I stabbed him, I stabbed him, I stabbed him at least 13 times. He is in the kitchen, lying down. He needs, he needs ambulance, he needs ambulance because I think I stabbed him in the neck too”.

Inside the home, authorities discovered the victim lying on the floor in a pool of his own blood. The victim was transported to Aventura Hospital via helicopter for treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the facility. Maldonado and the victim had been in an on-and-off relationship for approximately two years and had been living together at the Miami Gardens home for about five months prior to the stabbing.

An individual on the scene reportedly witnessed the fatal stabbing and was even able to film some of the argument, providing the footage to police. The witness allegedly heard Maldonado say, “You tried to choke me! And see, he bit me! He bit me! Now I am grabbing a knife and I don’t give a [expletive],” and the victim allegedly responded, “Why are you doing this? I didn’t do nothing!” just before Maldonado charged at him with the knife 3.

Maldonado appeared in court on Monday, where a judge found probable cause for the murder charge and ordered her to be held without bond. She is currently being detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

This tragic incident underscores the serious consequences of domestic violence and the potential for lethal outcomes in such situations. It highlights the importance of intervention and support for individuals involved in domestic disputes, as well as the need for accountability and justice for victims of such crimes.
