Toddler had 2 kilos cocaine in backpack, woman charged: Cops

In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old woman named Tierra Tocorra Hill from Mobile, Alabama, was arrested after a three-year-old child was found carrying two kilos of cocaine in his backpack. The incident led to Hill facing multiple drug-related charges, including trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana second degree, tampering with physical evidence, and four counts of chemical endangerment of a child.

The investigation began when authorities received a tip about Hill having a large amount of drugs at a known location. Deputies with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) observed Hill leaving her home and initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, they discovered Hill in possession of approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, and a firearm. The street value of the drugs found is believed to be around $450,000.

Following the traffic stop, a search warrant was executed at Hill’s home, where investigators found four children, ages 3, 8, 10, and 15, unattended. The toddler was wearing a blue Nike backpack containing about 2 kilograms of cocaine, and another kilogram of cocaine along with two handguns were found in a different backpack. The drugs and firearms were within the reach of the children, who were left at home without adult supervision.

Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch described the situation as “reckless” and “absurd,” highlighting the disregard for the law and the children’s wellbeing. He also noted the potential dangers had the children ingested any of the cocaine or been exposed to it, and the presence of handguns within their reach. Burch emphasized that the actions of Hill were not a poor decision but a deliberate action, noting that she made a deliberate decision to ride around with substantial amounts of drugs and a firearm in her car and leave her children home unintended with even more cocaine and more drugs.

The case underscores the severity of drug trafficking and the risks associated with leaving children unsupervised in environments where dangerous substances are present. It also highlights the importance of community vigilance and the role of law enforcement in protecting children from such dangerous situations.
