Jeffery Kirk Anderson was born on September 18, 1957, to Lloyd and Charlotte Anderson in Mobridge, South Dakota.

Jeff and his brother, Troy, traveled with his parents, Uncle Leroy and Gail Nordstrom family in South Dakota, North Dakota, and Wyoming working road construction. When Jeff became of school age, his mom said it was time to stay in Mobridge. While in middle school, Uncle Calvin got Jeff started collecting coins. This hobby became a lifelong passion. After graduating from Mobridge High School, he started working for Pepsi loading the truck with product, then a route driver for Mobridge and surrounding towns. Jeff later became the warehouse manager and picked up the load in Aberdeen. Every fall, Jeff looked forward to pheasant hunting with his brother and cousins. It wasn’t so much about how many pheasants they got but about being with family. Jeff married Marilyn Clement on June 24, 1994. The following year he joined the Catholic faith and soon became an active member at St. Joseph’s Church serving as a lector, sacristan, and Eucharistic minister. Jeff also joined the Knights of Columbus helping with their service projects.

Jeff was a Minnesota Vikings fan. When football season hit, he was in his man cave watching football. He was a loyal fan. Jeff enjoyed being on the Klein Museum board and helping with their projects. He loved history so it was a good fit. After 43 loyal years with Pepsi, he retired. He started on the city mowing crew. Jeff took great pride in his work and working with the guys was the best! Jeff served as president of the Bridge City Coin and Stamp club for over 30 years and is currently the president of South Dakota Coin and Stamp Association. He considered all the members his friends. Jeff loved the Mobridge community. As far as he was concerned, it was the best place to live. Jeff was diagnosed with cancer on April 5, 2024. He fought a heroic battle and never complained. He always had a positive attitude. Jeff had strong faith, and it became even stronger as the cancer progressed. Thank you to Dr. Travis Henderson and the nurses for their loving care.

Jeff is survived by his wife Marilyn of 30 years, his brother Troy of Chewelah, Washington, niece Adrienne (Brandon) Acord of Valley, Washington, Ryder and Elliot, nephew Joshua (Caitlin) of Springdale, Washington, Quaid, Kason, Talon, and Brody, step-nephew Dylan (Emily) Meese of Spokane, Washington, step-niece Cheyanne Kowal of Colville, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Charlotte, sister LeAnn, sister-in-law Lisa Anderson.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to St. Joseph’s Food Pantry, Klein Museum, and Mobridge Regional Hospital Building Fund.
