SPRING, Texas (TCN) —Â Authorities arrested a 39-year-old man several days after he allegedly fatally shot his father and stepmother.
On Feb. 16, the Harris County Precinct Four Constable’s Office responded to the 4000 block of Fitzwater Drive, where they found two victims, identified by KRIV-TV as 72-year-old Franklin Frakes and 56-year-old Florentina Frakes, deceased with multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators allege their son, Benjamin Frakes, had forced his way into the residence and fatally shot the couple the previous night.
Franklin Frakes allegedly tried to defend himself and his son was injured by gunfire during the struggle.
In an update from the constable’s office, officials said that on May 20, deputies responded to the Dog House Poker Club after an individual reported that Benjamin Frakes was playing poker inside. Authorities made entry and took the suspect into custody.
Deputies located a “sizable amount” of cocaine, Xanax, oxycodone, and other unknown substances in his possession. Officials also recovered two firearms in Frakes’ vehicle.
Investigators suspect Frakes stole the victims’ SUV, which is still missing.
According to Harris County Jail records, Frakes remains held on $5 million bond and has been charged with capital murder.
