The Real Housewives of New York City’s Luann de Lesseps is spilling some steamy secrets in the bedroom.
The former countess opened up about the unexpected way she gets turned on in Episode 7 of Bravo’s Love Hotel as she and the other three iconic Housewives searching for love are nearing the finish line of the dating series’ debut season.
With just a small group of handsome suitors still in the running to win the Housewives’ hearts, the race was on for the ladies to learn everything they could about the men who’d made it this far.
And Luann found the perfect way to do just that during a group date where they painted their own unique “spirit guides,” meant to represent their inner essence.
As the creativity flowed, Luann got some kinky conversation started among the group.
“So, the story goes like this: a friend that I met in Tulum, Mexico started the biggest fetish festival in the world,” she said.
The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Gizelle Bryant quickly turned the discussion back to Luann, asking, “So, Luann, what’s yours?”
“My fetish is hats,” Luann replied.
Luann memorably showed off her large hat collection just the week before to James, a 62-year-old entrepreneur from Santa Monica, California, in her hotel room, modeling a particularly fabulous white-brimmed hat.
“But do you have sex with hats on?” a curious Shannon Storms Beador, of The Real Housewives of Orange County, asked. “Isn’t that a fetish?”
Luann explained she was more into doing a “cabaret show” with the fashion accessories to set the mood.
After she made the admission, James chimed in to announce that his fetish was “dating a housewife,” a comment that didn’t land well with the others at the table.
“That’s not a good answer, James,” Shannon told him, as fellow contestant Wale added “Terrible, bro.”
James stirs up drama on Bravo’s Love Hotel
Since his introduction into the Love Hotel, James has been a divisive addition with his bold declarations of love for Luann and what some feel is his over-the-top behavior.
“Being in love with her as a friend is being in love with her as more than a friend,” James told the other suitors at one point.
His antics even had psychotherapist and fellow contestant Mitch declaring that he found James’ behavior disrespectful to Luann.
“I think Mitch is on to something,” RHOP’s Ashley Darby admitted in her own confessional. ”I think James is very sweet and kind, but it does make me question if he’s being genuine. James seems like he wants to get down on one knee and pop the question right now. Slow down, playa.”
Mitch later sat down with Luann to tell her his concerns in a one-on-one conversation, but she wasn’t having it. “Really? Am I missing the red flags, Mitch?” she said, before shutting the conversation down completely.
“It’s pretty obvious that James and I like each other a lot,” she continued. “In fact, you know what? He just got me a drink at the bar. I’ll see you later.”
James became the center of conversation again as they all prepped for a luxurious hotel spa date.
“I do want to say no one touch Luann because she’s my girl,” James told the others. “I just want to say that. Don’t even think about it.”
The comment set off both Mark, a 61-year-old real estate developer from New York City, and Mitch.
“It’s f-cking painful. I mean, really?” Mark said. “How much longer do we have to listen to this bullsh-t from him.”
Meanwhile, Mitch explained once again that he didn’t like how James approached dating.
“I’m sorry, it really bothers me,” he said. “If this was my friend, oh my god, I’d punch you.”
But Luann made it clear she didn’t feel disrespected by the comments and instead felt “like a princess.”
“He gives me so much attention,” she said. “He’s always looking after me, he makes me feel safe.”
If anything, Mitch only succeeded at driving Luann further away.
“Mitch didn’t respect me because if you respect me, you would never say that to me,” Luann later told producers. “It’s all about respect.”
As the women get ready to head into the final elimination round next week, they’ll be forced to make some tough choices as they decide which suitor they want to check out with.
