ROYAL OAK, Mich. (TCN) —Â A 45-year-old woman is in custody after police responded to a mental health crisis and found her mother with a fatal neck injury.
On June 4, the Royal Oak Police Department received a call from 66-year-old Leslie Cataldo, who reported that her daughter, Jennifer Cataldo, needed to be taken to a hospital for a mental health crisis. Authorities “detected signs of a struggle while speaking” with the daughter.
Inside the apartment, police discovered Leslie Cataldo unresponsive on the floor with a life-threatening neck wound. She was transported to a hospital for emergency surgery and died the following day.
Police took Jennifer Cataldo into custody at the scene and booked her into the Oakland County Jail. She was arraigned on June 6 and charged with one count of first-degree murder.
