Andy Cohen has been the host of WWHL since 2009

In 2024, Andy and Bravo celebrated the 15 year anniversary of WWHL. In a July 2024 episode of WWHL, Andy recalled how he felt before going into the taping of the first WWHL episode, which first aired in July 2009.

“I was so excited. I felt super, super comfortable,” he said. “I remember going into the bathroom to take one pee before I went on the air. I remember looking in the mirror and I remember thinking, ‘You’re not nervous.’ And I kind of felt like it was meant to be, to tell you the truth.”

Inside Andy Cohen’s job as Bravo reunion host

Andy is the host for Bravo reunions across franchises. In a 2023 interview with TV Deets, Andy admitted that he doesn’t have a “favorite” franchise to serve as the reunion host for. “There are 10 Real Housewives franchises right now, believe it or not, and I am Executive Producer of all of them, and they all give me something different,” he said at the time.

“But I will say, The Real Housewives of Potomac and RHOA have two of the funniest casts, and I love to laugh,” he noted. “So, it’s fun when you’re sitting there all day — they often take 12 hours to shoot — so it’s fun when you can chuckle throughout the day.”

Details on Andy Cohen’s role as executive producer of The Real Housewives franchise

In a SiriusXM Town Hall series with actor Ben Stiller, Andy gave some insight into his role as the executive producer for the Real Housewives franchise. During the town hall, Andy confirmed that he gives “notes on every episode.”

In the interview with TV Deets, Andy gave some insight into the different Real Housewives cities. “The interesting thing is that the first format of the show was built around a group of friends, but the friends in each city are so different, in a weird way, because they are very much representative of each place that they live in. So I think, that’s what sets each franchise apart,” he said.

Andy also serves as the host of CNN’s New Years Eve Live countdown alongside his BFF, Anderson Cooper.

“It’s such an unusual experience. It’s five hours of standing in Times Square in the elements, just shooting the s–t and having fun,” Andy told Parade in December 2024. It’s a very unique broadcast, and it’s really fun, and you’re actually counting down to something. You’re waiting for something to happen, and then something does happen, so it’s great!”
